Jeremy Bryan Jones

Good Police Work

John Paul Chapman made several telephone calls from the jail's pay phone to a number in Miami, Oklahoma. The phone number belonged to a Jeanne Beard.

A Miami detective told the Mobile police that he knew Mrs. Beard, and knew there were outstanding warrants for her son.

His name?

Jeremy Bryan Jones.

The Miami detective sent Jones' photos and fingerprints to Mobile, along with the outstanding warrants. This time, said Marvin Whitfield, a crime scene investigator with the Mobile County Sheriff's Office, the prints matched.

Chapman was surprised, to say the least, when presented with the outstanding warrants for Jeremy Bryan Jones, and evidence of his duplicate identities.
