Meanwhile, the Boulder County District Attorney's Office released the seven-count grand jury indictment Wednesday. The indictment, the product of seven months of work by a grand jury that met at least weekly and was charged only with investigating the death of Jason Midyette, alleges a pattern of physical abuse by Alex Midyette and lies from both parents aimed at covering up obvious injuries to their son.
According to the indictment, two of the Midyettes' friends, as well as Alex's mother and Molly's mother, saw bruises on Jason's head in January or February 2006.

In all four cases, either Alex or Molly explained that the bruises were caused by accident when Alex bumped his son's head into chairs and in one case into a countertop.
Jason died March 3, 2006 from severe brain injuries.
