FORT MYERS, Fla. — An ecologist who was surveying a wooded lot made a startling discovery today when he stumbled upon three human skeletons. When investigators arrived on the scene, just 25 feet from Arcadia Street in east Fort Myers, they discovered an additional five skeletons, suggesting the area may have been a dumping ground for a serial killer. The deaths are being handled as homicides and a forensic anthropologist is assisting police in determining when and how the victims died. The discovery has led many to wonder if there is a connection to Daniel Conahan, the media dubbed Hog Trail Killer, who was suspected of dumping the bodies of his victims in wooded areas during the 1990s.
