Indiana teen Tyrell Morton, 18, thought he had a great prank for his last day of school. On May 31, 2011, he left a blowup doll in a stall in the girls' bathroom at Rush Consolidated High School. He thought he had gotten away clean, but a janitor saw him run away. School officials reviewed the security video and saw a hooded figure bringing a package into the school and leaving without it. They feared that some kind of bomb had been left behind and notified authorities. K9 units and a bomb squad searched the building, found the sex doll, and police arrested Morton. He was charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, and institutional criminal mischief, a felony, which carries from two to eight years in prison. Rush County Prosecuting Attorney Philip J. Caviness, who from the start claimed that he did not intend to seek prison time for Morton, agreed to dismiss the felony charge against Morton. A diversion agreement submitted to the court August 18 stipulates that Caviness won't pursue the case as long as Morton stays out of trouble for one year. Morton must also perform eight hours of community service for Rush County Schools.
