Shawn Nicholson, a Corrections Officer in Orleans County, NY., was arrested after a weeks-long investigation into the smuggling of contraband into the jail. Nicholson, 35, has been an employee of the Orleans County Corrections Department for 6 years. According to a statement issued by Sheriff Scott Hess on December 5, 2011, he is charged with promoting prison contraband, criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance, conspiracy and official misconduct. Nicholson booked into Genessee County Jail and placed on administrative leave.
