The Murder Of Robert Wone

Victor Zaborsky

In 1999, Joseph Price became a sperm donor for a lesbian couple he knew through friends. A year later he began dating Victor Zaborsky, an established executive five years older than he. The two men eventually registered as domestic partners, and were involved in the lives of the lesbian couple's first son, and then of a second child.

Zaborsky was born in Philadelphia, but his father's job as a chemist meant they moved frequently. He graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1988 with a degree in finance. When he first moved to Washington, it was to work as the manager of a bank branch.

But by the night of Wone's murder, Zaborsky had built a successful career in marketing. He worked for the International Dairy Foods Association's promotional offshoot, the Milk Processors Education Program. There, Zaborsky was one of the people behind the "Got Milk" campaign.

Just six months after Zaborsky and Price met, they bought a townhouse and moved in together. But there would soon be another man in the picture. Their idea of family values turned out to be atypical.
