Theodore Bundy was found guilty of two counts of First Degree Murder, three counts of Attempted First Degree Murder and two counts of Burglary.¹ The following facts, issues on appeal, and the supreme court's conclusion and reasoning are excerpted and summarized from the court's opinion in Bundy v. State, 455 So.2d 330 (Fla. 1984).

[Sidebar: Bundy has also been convicted and given the death penalty for the murder of Kimberly Leach in Lake City, Florida. At the time of his arrest for the Leach and Chi Omega murders, Bundy was wanted for escape and homicide in Colorado and was a suspect in 36 sex-related murders in the northwest United States.²
