Robert D. Keppel, Ph.D.

Dr. Robert D. Keppel is currently President of the Institute for Forensics in Seattle, Washington.  Previously he had distinguished himself as a detective in the King County Major Crimes Unit where, early in his career, he was appointed as chief investigator in the Ted Bundy murder case. Several years later he resigned to take up a position as the Chief Criminal Investigator with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office, a post he retained for over seventeen years until his retirement.  In his career he has participated in more than 2000 murder investigations including fifty serial murder cases and has consulted on numerous high profile cases including the Green River killings in Seattle and the Atlanta Child murders.

He has authored and co-authored a number of books and articles on serial murder including Signature Killers, The Riverman -- Ted Bundy and I Hunt for the Green River Killer,  both with William J. Birnes and his latest Serial Murder – Future Implications for Police Investigations.
