The Contract Murder of Kathryn Ann Martini-Lissy

Davis walked over to the hotel restaurant, where he asked to speak with the manager. When the restaurant manager appeared, Davis showed his identification and handed him the dinner receipt.

"Can you tell me who waited on this customer?" Davis asked.

The manager glanced at the receipt, recognized that the waiter was on duty and led Davis into the dining area. He spotted the waiter and motioned for him to come over to where he and Davis were standing.

"Did you wait on the person that this ticket is billed to?" Davis asked the waiter.

"Yes, I did," responded the waiter as he looked over the ticket. "Kathryn Ann Martini-Lissy, she was the woman I waited on. This is the ticket, what she had, what she drank, everything that was purchased while I was waiting on her."

"That was yesterday, the fifth of July?"

"That's right. It was about six-thirty in the evening when she was first served. It shows the time right here, six-thirty-six. She had prime rib and espresso, and the prime rib comes with a salad and potato, vegetables, et cetera. She had two glasses of wine. One was a white one, the other was a red wine."

The waiter noted that the white wine had been served shortly after her arrival, and that she had been served the red wine at 7:02 p.m., when she had received her meal. The waiter recalled that she left the restaurant at approximately 7:30 p.m. and that as far as he could tell she had been alone. The waiter, in response to Davis' questioning, said that Kathy had been dressed nicely in a very light-blue business suit and that she had been carrying paperwork with her.
