Despite the fact that McFarland has not been named an official suspect in Kelly's death, her friends remain convinced he is responsible, as is evident in recent posts to Kelly's MySpace profile. Yesterday, a friend of Kelly's, identified only by her MySpace screen name "Rachel," posted the following comment to her web page:
"OMG!!! They finally got him sweetie!! [It's] what you were trying to help them with the whole time!! We all knew it was just a matter of time... We miss you guys like crazy. Now you really have something to sing and dance about!!! I told you god was watching over us and it will be a matter of time before we know what happened to you!! I love and miss you bunches!!"

McFarland also has a MySpace profile. In September, his profile read, "I am almost 6foot single and maybe hot?" He said he was looking for "someone who knows the real me."
It is somewhat peculiar that McFarland was advertising for a girlfriend, since at the same time, he was living in the Stanley home and supposedly planning on marrying Erin.
Perhaps upon realizing that such comments might not be appropriate, McFarland recently updated his profile, OJ Simpson-style, changing it to read, "I'm on a search to find out who killed Erin and Kelly Stanley and I will find out who did it and I know that it was not me like everybody believes."
