LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Crime Library) —It seems like something you'd watch in an episode of the "CSI" television series: A beautiful girl attends a wild party, which turns out to be the wrong place at the wrong time. Fast forward to five days later, when an investigator is peering over her decomposing body sprawled on an abandoned loading dock next to a warehouse.
But unlike television, this case isn't tied up in a neat little bow within a few days. It's been eight months since 14-year-old Emmery Munoz was found and her killer is still out there. Detectives went public with the case last week, hoping that any witnesses will come forward.

According to an autopsy report, Emmery was strangled to death with a ligature that created a ¼ abrasion around the sides and front of her neck. The 5-foot 1-inch, 98-pound girl was then dumped at the warehouse, a frequent site for teen "rave" parties, police said.
