As usual, calls to Boulder County District Attorney Mary Lacy yesterday were not returned and as of this writing she has yet to comment on the pleas.
Jason Midyette died in March 2006. Five months later the Boulder County Coroner's Office ruled his death a homicide after determining he had not suffered from a brittle bone disease. The autopsy findings indicated that the brain injuries Jason suffered, as well as the 27 bone fractures, were in "various stages of healing," a clear indication that the injuries were inflicted at different times.

In May the grand jury reviewed the findings and handed down a seven-count indictment for child abuse in connection with Jason's death. Both Midyettes were arrested, but they were only in jail a few hours before being fitted with electronic monitoring devices and released on a combined $1.25 million bond.
