MCKEESPORT, Pa. (Crime Library) — Thomas Hose, the former school security guard accused of holding a teenage girl as a virtual captive in his home for a decade is scheduled to be formally arraigned today in an Allegheny County courtroom.
The 48-year-old Hose, under house arrest since he was apprehended last March, is facing charges of involuntary deviant sexual intercourse and statutory sexual assault. |

Authorities have alleged that dark haired and brooding Hose seduced a then 14-year-old Tanya Kach, and after enticing her to runaway from her single father's home, held her as a virtual sex slave in his home.
Hose has denied the allegations.

Tanya Nichole Kach |
The case gained international notoriety last spring when Tanya, now 24, identified herself to a local shopkeeper and then detailed her decade of alleged captivity to local police and prosecutors.
According to court papers filed at the time, Tanya vanished on Feb. 10, 1996. Her frantic father searched for her, notified police, and posted her name everywhere he could. The state Division of Youth and Family Services opened a probe into her disappearance, and years later, her name and picture, a photograph of a wan young girl with sandy-colored hair, remained in police files and as a flickering image on web sites dedicated to the search for missing children.
