Kevin Underwood: Another Deadly Blogger?

By  Steve Huff

Police knew they were looking for a male between 24 and 30 years of age who drove a dark blue Chevy Tahoe with dark, tinted windows and a large "FOX" logo on the rear window.

CNN broke the news of Jamie's body being found on Friday, April 14th, and then the news of the arrest of Kevin Ray Underwood, age 26. Speaking to CNN reporters, District Attorney Tim Kuykendall of McClain County, OK said, "I have never, ever been involved ... in a death or a homicide that has been as atrocious and heinous and cruel as what I believe this little girl suffered before her death."

In the same article, it was stated that Underwood had no apparent criminal history. However, it was also stated that Jamie's body had been found in his apartment, and in an article published on the website of Tulsa, OK ABC affiliate NewsChannel 8, it was said that police had evidence that the man they'd arrested had conversations over the internet with Jamie Bolin that were sexual in nature.

Underwood went by "Subspecies23" on Yahoo. His profile, which is no longer available, there showed a man who looks younger than 26. Unlike the suspect drawing released when police were searching for Jamie Bolin, Underwood's hair is long in the Yahoo profile photo, a russet brown, his eyes dark and flat.

Kevin Underwood linked his "Futureworldruler" weblog from his Yahoo profile and stated on that page that he was, "single and looking," and his favorite quote was, "A hand that is tightly clenched is called a fist, a hand that remains forever tightly clenched is called deformed."

Though nearing 30, Underwood also made it clear in his blogs and his Yahoo profile that he was a devotee of things Japanese, including anime and manga, two popular Japanese styles of cartoon. His other favorite link on his Yahoo profile was www.jilist.com. The disclaimer on the main page of that site reads:

"J-List is a wonderful place where you can find hundreds of cool products from Japan. Some of our products are for adults. If you are 18 or older, please click the blue graphic. If you are not 18, or are not interested in adult products, or are offended by adult products, please click the green graphic."

The adult products would likely be hentai, which is a cartoon form that is similar in drawing style to the more kid-friendly anime and manga, but delves graphic violence and pornography.

Underwood's "FutureWorldRuler" blog has archives dating back to 2002. A click to the main page showed that though Jamie Rose Bolin disappeared on April 12th, Underwood made an entry as recently as April 13th. It was simply a link to this article about fossils filling the evolution gap, posted at www.discovery.com.

Underwood wrote one sentence on the post: "The missing link found at last."

Authorities say they found Bolin's body in Underwood's residence. Does this mean he was writing a blog entry even while the 10-year-old lay dead somewhere close by?
