Late Monday, investigators searched Edenfield's mobile home and arrested his mother, Peggy Edenfield, for obstructing a police officer, giving false statements, and concealing the death of a person.
During the search of Edenfield's trailer, investigators found what they later described as a significant piece of evidence, although they refused to provide any details.

Tuesday, detectives arrested Edenfield's father, David Edenfield, and Donald Dale, a family friend, and charged them with obstruction, giving false statements, and concealing a death.

Police said all four gave conflicting statements about Christopher being killed and his body buried. The statements led police to conduct a number of time-consuming, yet fruitless searches around the trailer park for the boy's body.

Thursday, detectives spent about 30 minutes searching a wooden shed behind a house where the Edenfields lived until May. During the search they found important evidence, they said, but declined to provide any details.
