Valdez told authorities that her sister had four children all together. She said her sister had a temper and that she had reported her sister to the authorities in 2002 for punching her 9-month-old daughter, Alexis Ramirez, in the chest. For that incident, Lopez was convicted of assault in juvenile court. However, for unknown reasons, Child Protective Services (CPS) did not take custody of the child. Instead, they placed both Lopez and her daughter in a foster home.
The following year, Lopez gave birth to a baby boy, who she named Jeovoni Lopez. In 2005, Lopez ran away from the foster home, leaving both of her children behind. CPS then took custody of them, and they were later were adopted. In a perfect world, measures would have been taken to ensure Lopez would never be able to mother another child; however, this world is far from perfect.
In October 2005, Lopez, a woman who is obviously unfamiliar with birth control, gave birth to another baby girl, who she named Sariyah Garcia. Less than a year later, Lopez gave birth to yet another child. This time it was a baby boy, who she named Sebastian Lopez.
"She just goes psycho sometimes," said Valdez said in an interview with KSAT 12 News last week. "If they (CPS) knew how she treated the two older ones, they should have just taken these two youngest ones, because they knew her history."
