Last week, Allegheny County medical examiner Dr. Karl Williams ruled that Nyia's death was a result of exposure and hypothermia. Williams said the little girl's body was literally frozen by the time searchers found her.
"She was a happy little girl, loving," Nyia's grandmother Marianne Page told WPXI last week. "When she smiled, she had a little dimple."
"She used to always wake me up and I would carry her around the house, make a lot of noise. She was a fun-loving niece to me," said James Page, Nyia's uncle.

William Lorenzo Page is being held without bond at the Allegheny County Jail on charges of indecent assault of a child, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, criminal homicide, filing a false police report, kidnapping, and simple assault. His next court appearance is to be announced.
