In September, she sat for an interview for an upcoming Mother's Day article in Ladies' Home Journal about mothers with dangerous jobs.
The author of the story, Kenneth Miller, told the Houston Chronicle this week: "This was a woman who seemed very, very attached to her family. She talked about some very moving things involving her kids. Something obviously has gone very wrong."

In 2005, Oefelein and his wife, Michealla divorced. They have two children. Michealla's mother, Charlene Davis, laid some of the blame for her daughter's divorce on Lisa Nowak. "I have not meet Lisa," Davis told the Los Angeles Times this week. "I only know that she broke my daughter's heart."
