Alabama: Geneva County Massacre
Killed: 10 + Self; Injured: 6
On March 10, 2009, a deadly day in Geneva County, 28-year-old Michael McLendon (pictured) killed his mother and set fire to her house before continuing on to the nearby homes of relatives, where he killed his grandmother, his uncle, two cousins and two neighbors. McLendon then moved on to strangers, killing a pedestrian, a customer at a gas station and another man who attempted to stop him. Several were injured when McLendon fired at cars. The killing finally came to an end when McLendon killed himself at his former place of employment, Reliable Metal Products.
