All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth
On December 19, 2011, Taylor Giresi of Belmar, N.J., 20, and an unnamed male accomplice, 17, from Lake Como, decided that it would be fun to videotape themselves beating up a homeless man for Christmas. Giresi carried out the assault, while the younger man recorded the event that they later posted on youtube.com. The video opens with a shot of Giresi walking, while his companion asks, "Tell us what you're about to go do?" Giresi replies, "Goin' to go beat up this bum." The video shows them stalking and beating a man with a bicycle in a wooded area. At one point the victim's face is bleeding and Giresi sarcastically apologizes, hugs him and knees him in the groin. The video ends with Giresi stealing the man's bike and calling out, "Merry Chsristmas! Happy Chanukah! Whatever the f--- you are!" Giresi was charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit assault. Bail was set at $60,000. The younger man, whose name has not been released, faces a charge of conspiracy.
As a result of the publicity, the victim, David Ivins, 50, has benefitted from an outpouring of support. He has a coat and gloves, and is living in a donated hotel room, where he has a warm bed, food and clothing. Donations are being accepted through the
Wall Township Police Department.
