Black Swan
The ballet thriller Black Swan, directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Natalie Portman, has landed five Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. The film's taut suspense has kept critics and audiences alike on the edges of their seats, but, on February 19, 2011, one moviegoer in Riga, Latvia, reacted more forcefully, striking out at another viewer who thought he was eating his popcorn too loudly. During the film's closing credits, the 27-year-old man allegedly shot and killed his critic after arguing about the noisy snack.
