Investigation into the Murder of Dr. David Cornbleet

Shocking Discovery

According to Jonathan, his father was well liked by his patients, and he often went out of his way to help them, even the ones who had financial difficulties.

"He always thought of his patients as extended family members, talking about them all of the time and caring about them as people, and not just customers. He had legions of patients who he worked with for ten, twenty and even the entire 28 years.

"I was always so proud of how he ran his practice, as he was very ethical, honest, and always put his patients first. He did whatever he could for them often giving away medicine and helping patients in different financial situations out. He cared more about their well being than even his own."

David and his wife Aileen also had a very special relationship. After 38 years of marriage, she was still number one in his heart. They spent their vacations traveling the world together, and, at least once every week, David would bring her a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a symbol of his undying love for her. Theirs was truly the love of a lifetime.

Meticulous by nature, David would phone his wife every day at 6:20 p.m., to let her know he was on his way home from work. However, on Oct. 24, 2006, he never called. When she had not heard from him by 6:45 p.m., Aileen began to worry. She phoned Jonathan at 7:45 p.m. and asked if he had seen his father. Jonathan answered that he had not seen his dad all day. He called his sister and asked her to run over to the office to see if everything was all right. At about 8:00 p.m., Jocelyn Cornbleet arrived at her father's office and made a shocking discovery, one that will haunt her for the rest of her life.
