The Mansion Murders of Byrd and Melanie Billings

By October 2009, seven of the suspects had pleaded not guilty to murder and were awaiting trial. Pamela Long Wiggins pleaded not guilty to the charge of being an accessory after the fact. The initial court dates were scheduled to begin November 4, but State Attorney Bill Eddins said he didn't expect the actual trials to begin for another year. All of those charged with murder are eligible for the death penalty, except for the minor. It was not clear if the state would be seeking the death penalty.
