Ever-changing web of lies...

Full Taylor Behl news coverage

Richmond, VA (Crime Library) — The lies began early. In an interview with a Richmond, VA CBS affiliate a week after Taylor Behl's September 5, 2005 disappearance from the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Ben W. Fawley spoke of walking Taylor Behl back to her dorm room.

A young man she'd been dating since she entered VCU in August named Jake was actually the person who walked Taylor Behl to her dorm that night.

Early in the investigation into the 17-year-old college freshman's disappearance, the story of her "going skateboarding" that night with as many as 3 young men floated in and out of the news.

Taylor Behl was not carrying a skateboard that September night. She had been skateboarding on the previous Saturday, but that night, at least, no one saw Taylor carrying a skateboard. It is not clear as to whether Ben Fawley began the "3 skateboarders" story but it was Fawley who wrote in his "Skulz67" Livejournal weblog on September 10 the following brief entry:

Fawley's Skateboard
Fawley's Skateboard

I lost a skatebord (sic) the other day, hope I will find it again...
