Earlier this month Judge Montgomery ordered the Midyettes' electronic monitors removed.  The ruling was made after defense attorneys filed a motion stating the devices were problematic.  According to the Midyettes' attorneys, the devices are tracked using cell phone towers and whenever the Midyettes visited family members in rural areas the signal reception would be lost, prompting suspicions by the monitoring company.  Following the judge's ruling the Midyettes' ankle bracelets were removed.

Molly Midyette's trial is set to begin on Dec. 10, and Alex Midyette's is set for Jan. 14.  They are currently out on bond and living in a home in Erie.  To discuss this case, visit Crime Library's message boards.
