Drunk woman tries to steal car with officers inside

It’s not clear whether it was theft, drunkenness, or an overdeveloped sense of self-entitlement, but  a drunk Pittsburgh woman leaving a nightclub around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, reportedly got into an occupied unmarked police car, and tried to drive off with it.

Ria Buford, 32, did not get very far, luckily. According to the two plainclothes officers who were in the back seat, Buford opened the driver-side door, got in and announced that she was driving the car to the spot where she had parked her own. She was arrested before she got going, and a man who tried to interfere with her arrest, was also arrested.

Since there is law against using police as your own personal shuttle bus, Buford faces charges of robbery of a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
