Prior to my conversation with Kelly, I spoke with 2nd Lt. David Herndon, a spokesman for Wilford Hall Medical Center, where Dotson worked as an ICU nurse. According to Lt. Herndon, Dotson's status has been changed from "whereabouts unknown" to "missing." Lt. Herndon then put me in touch with the Air Force public relations department of OSI (Office of Special Investigations); however, they were unable to comment on the status of the investigation. They would only say they were actively assisting the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

In recent days I have received several emails in regards to rumors that Vehle has filed for custody of 16-month-old Savannah Marie, the child he had with Nonnie. I spoke with Nonnie's mother, Candice, today, who currently has the child with her in California. She said the family has not heard from Vehle or the state of Texas.
"I am aware of the rumors, but we have not received any paperwork regarding custody," Candice said. "If it were true, I would have to get a lawyer and find out what our rights are."

In addition to Candice's comments, The Denver Post published an article yesterday, in which they quote Vehle's attorney saying his client was not opposed to Nonnie's parents caring for Savannah Marie.

"It's his belief that she is being adequately cared for and not neglected in any fashion," Norton said.
Nonnie Dotson went missing on Nov. 19 in Jefferson County, Colorado, while she was visiting family in Littleton. She went out to meet friends and never came home. Anyone with information about the disappearance of Nonnie Dotson should call the Jefferson County Sheriff's tip line 303-271-5612.
