KUALA LUMPUR — An elite police unit is under investigation for the suspicious murder of a 28-year-old model last month. This is not the first time the special tactics unit, known as "UTK" (Unit Tindak Khas), has been under the microscope. In June 1993, foul play was suspected when suspected serial killer P. Kalimuthu aka "Bentong Kali" was gunned down in his home and then again in Dec. 1997, when several members of the Azhar Gang were shot dead by the police squad.

| EVANSVILLE, IN — A new domestic violence shelter is set to be opened in Evansville and will be named after the only know survivor of serial killer Angel Maturino Resendiz. News station WFIE-14 reports Holly's House was the brainstorm of Holly Dunn-Pendleton and the Evansville Police Department. An old library is currently being renovated for the shelter, which should be finished by June of next year. |

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A jury in Rochester took less than 2 1/2 hours to find serial killer Robert Spahalski guilty of killing four people in a 15-year span. Prosecutor Ken Hyland says he will now seek consecutive sentences on each count. Regardless of the ultimate outcome, Spahalski has AIDS and is in very poor health.
JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — A 27-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering five people, whose bodies were discovered south of Johannesburg. According to Independent Online, the man was "positively linked to the murders." Authorities have not released his name or the details of his arrest.
