The couple starting dating in April, and by August, they were engaged and living together. Moulder told friends it was "love at first sight."
"He made her happy. She was extremely happy. She said it was blissful. She used that word," an unidentified friend of Moulder's told TheIndyChannel.com. "I said, 'You know, sometimes love moves quickly,' and she said, 'Yeah, it's just like a whirlwind.'"

Moulder has profiles at Yahoo, MySpace and Facebook.com; however, nothing within them suggests she was having problems with her fiance or second thoughts about their engagement. She last logged into her MySpace account on October 2. The title at the top of her page reads only, "Engaged!" In regard to education, she wrote that she was a college graduate. For occupation, she wrote, "Nunya" (meaning "none of your business"). Rather than describe herself in the "About Me" section of the profile, she chose to enter the following quote by Joseph Addison: "Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for."
Moulder has multiple photos uploaded to the website, including several of Broadwater and her together, seemingly blissful in each other's arms. Under one photo in particular, she wrote: "My unbelievable boyfriend, Jason."
