According to Niewyk, Boone is in the process of divorcing her husband, a policeman from an unidentified department. He also said that Boone is currently living with a Grand Rapids police officer.
In regard to why all of the men found his girlfriend so appealing, Niewyk said, "I can't see the attraction."

After hearing all of the evidence, Kimball announced his decision to the officers in letters dated October 2, 2007.
"I informed them that it was my decision to proceed with their discharges, based on the cited violations of the Police Department Manual of Conduct and City Rules and Regulations," Kimball said, adding, "prior to the receipt of my letter, one of those four officers elected to resign."
