Cops look for clues from beyond the grave
In the meantime, authorities have been trying to determine whether Higgs alleged slaying of his wife was the first he had committed. To that end, on Oct. 10, they exhumed the body of Charles Augustine and took tissue samples that were sent to an FBI lab. There, technicians will test for the presence of telltale samples of succinylcholine. It could take weeks before those test results are returned. Charles Augustine's body was reinterred Saturday.

For his part, Higgs, through his attorney, has denied any involvement in his wife's death, according to published reports.
