New Facts Uncovered In John Woodring Investigation -- Exclusive

By David Lohr

(Continued)

Things became a bit shaky in July of 2005, when members of Bonnie's family came for a visit.  For reasons that are not yet clear, Woody assaulted a male family member by choking him and then head-butted a female.  The Sylva Police Department was called to the scene, however the incident apparently never resulted in an arrest.

While Bonnie worked as a nurse at a local hospital, Woody decided to return to college to earn a master's degree in counseling.  He told Bonnie he planned on starting his own business after he graduated and said they could run it together.  With nothing but blue skies on the horizon, they decided to take another step forward and purchased a home together.

According to a Deed of Trust, dated September 8, 2005, Woody and Bonnie borrowed one hundred forty thousand dollars from a state employee's credit union.  They used the money to purchase a single story house located at 621 Kitchens Branch Road in Sylva, North Carolina.  Soon the couple, along with Bonnie's son and two of Woody's own kids, were all living in the home together.

According to one of my sources, shortly after Woody and Bonnie were married, Bonnie found some legal documents suggesting Woody was still married to one of his ex-wives.  This of course goes right along with a recent article in the Asheville Citizen-Times written by Jon Ostendorff.  In his article, Ostendorff stated court documents he uncovered showed Woody was actually married to another woman when he married Bonnie.  Upon reviewing those documents, it is quite obvious that Woody did in fact commit bigamy.
