Search continues in Burlington's hill section for clues to fate of missing co-ed
In the meantime, police on Wednesday said they had enlisted the aid of volunteers and planned to scour the hill section of Burlington, not far from where Michelle was last seen, in the hopes of turning up some clues.
News of the expanded probe came less than a day after Michelle's parents issued their plea for her safe return.
"I beg of everyone that hears this broadcast, if they know anything at all about where my daughter Michelle is today, or where she might have been Friday night, Saturday morning, they tell us instantly," her father, John Charles Quinn of Arlington, Va. said in the video released on the Burlington Police Department Web site (www.bpdvt.org.).

"I think she's a fighter," her mother, Diane Quinn, added. "We pray that she's alive."
In the four days since Michelle vanished after spending an evening with friends — hours before she was scheduled to meet her parents, who had traveled to the university for a visit — authorities have conducted a massive air and ground search, and have turned up several promising leads, police said in a statement released on their Web site.
