Janet Pelasara, Taylor's mother, was quick to dispute this version of events. "Let's be clear, Ben Fawley murdered my daughter," she said in a news conference. "His claim that it was accidental is just one more perversion of the truth in his ever-changing web of lies."
The "confession" attributed to Fawley, 38, was that on Sept 5, the night Taylor disappeared, they drove in Taylor's car to a remote area in Mathews County, parked and had consensual sex in the car. Allegedly, he claimed that during "rough sex," he restricted her breathing which caused her accidental death. Then he panicked, covered her body in plastic and left it unburied in a ravine on a property adjacent to one owned by the parents of his ex-girlfriend.

Looking closely at Fawley's story, there are very good reasons to question it, starting with his claim that late night on Monday, Sept. 5, they made the hour and a half drive to remote Mathews County to have sex. It is difficult to understand why they would drive in the middle of the night such a long way to have sex. Fawley's apartment was right near the campus.
