Dearborn
Since 9/11, perhaps even before, the Detroit suburb of Dearborn has been derisively referred to as Dearbornistan because of its large Arab population, many of whom settled there to work in the automobile industry.

Dearborn is home to the Ford Motor Company. It is also home to the Arab-American National Museum and the Islamic Center of America, a Shiite mosque that claims to be the largest mosque in North America.
In Arab-dominated east Dearborn, many store signs and billboards are written in Arabic.
According to local officials, Dearborn's population stands at 99,000. More than 30 percent of the city's residents are Arab, the highest percentage of any American city. No other city even comes close. A U.S. Census Bureau report titled The Arab Population: 2000 listed the 10 U.S. cities with the highest concentrations of Arab residents. Second on the list was Jersey City, N.J., where Arabs represented less than 3 percent of the total population.
