SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (Crime Library) — An autopsy on the body of 5-year-old Destiny Norton yielded clues that caused investigators to search the home of her confessed killer a second time after his arrest, court documents have revealed.

Todd Grey, Utah's chief medical examiner, found during the July 25 autopsy "paper towels associated with D.N.'s body. Dr. Grey also observed a detergent-like substance in the bin that contained D.N.'s body," the search warrant affidavit said.
Investigators went back out to the downtown Salt Lake City home of Craig Roger Gregerson five days after searching it the first time. Destiny Norton's body was discovered during the initial search in a plastic bin located in the basement. Investigators also seized documents, cameras, cassette and video tapes — items that would show Gregerson planned the July 19 abduction and killing of his young neighbor.

However, this time around detectives were looking for evidence more forensic in nature. Among the items seized included:
A vacuum cleaner and dust bag
Plastic bags in numerous locations throughout the home
Paper towels
A roll of tape and an empty roll of tape
A cardboard Wendy's restaurant box with a red stain on it
Baby powder
A plastic bucket containing an unknown substance
Laundry soap brands Surf in the bathroom and Tide in the kitchen
Chewing gum
The high profile case was in the news constantly and police also seized a box referred to as "media stuff" and a sex magazine.
