MATHEWS, Va. (Crime Library) — With just two-and-a-half weeks to go before testimony begins in the trial of Ben Fawley, the part-time photographer charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of Taylor Behl, authorities have not yet released a detailed version of the slain co-ed's autopsy.

A complete version of the report could be finished this week, nine months after Behl's body was found dumped on a rural farm, miles from the city of Richmond where the teenage student was last seen alive.

But despite a vigorous protest from defense attorneys, a judge last week ruled that Fawley's trial will proceed without it.

Chris Collins, one of two attorneys defending Fawley against charges that he strangled the 17-year-old in September and dumped her body in a ditch in rural Mathews County, had argued in court last week that the trial should be delayed until the autopsy results were ready.

The state medical examiner has said that the office is awaiting additional evidence before making a final determination regarding the cause and manner of Behl's death.
