SALT LAKE CITY, Ut. (Crime Library) — As the community here mourns the death of 5-year-old Destiny Norton, details of her alleged killer's life are emerging that show a troubled, convoluted character.
Craig Roger Gregerson, 20, is a loner who stays to himself, doesn't like children and has a propensity for violence. He's thin man with stooped posture who works in a warehouse by day and trolls the Internet for romance at night, according to interviews, court records and Internet documents.

"He's creepy," said next-door neighbor Troy Cox. "He's just weird."
Gregerson lives in the third of four duplexes in a low-rent neighborhood of downtown Salt Lake. His front yard is a grassy area where Destiny used to play before she disappeared from there on July 16, five days before the first birthday of his own daughter.
Destiny Norton's body was found Monday in Gregerson's 10-by-10-foot cement basement, just 100 feet from her home. According to a jail booking document:

"Suspect Gregerson opened the gate to his backyard and lured the juvenile female into his residence. The juvenile female began to scream. Suspect Gregerson put his hand over the juvenile's mouth and began to squeeze. The juvenile female went limp and suspect Gregerson laid her body on the floor."
The document was filed at 8 p.m., capping off a day of intense questioning by the FBI and a failed polygraph exam.
