UNITED KINGDOM (Crime Library) — Last week Rekha Kumari-Baker, 39, was arrested for the murder of her daughters, Davina, 16, and Jasmine, 13. Since that time, police have charged Kumari-Baker with two counts of murder. Cambridgeshire police have yet to uncover a motive in the killings that have left friends and family alike both stunned and saddened.

On Thursday, the girls' father, David Baker, 42, issued a statement through Cambridgeshire police, describing the pain and anguish he continues to suffer from the loss of his daughters.
"I loved my girls. They meant everything to me and I loved them with all my heart," he said. "They have been taken from me and my whole family is in pain. They are irreplaceable. I just want them back."

David said he had a lot of good memories with the girls and that he was very proud of them both. Davina was in the process of finishing her General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) so that she could become a social worker, and Jasmine was an academically gifted child who worked hard at maintaining good grades.
"They were so clever ... both the girls had a sharp sense of humor and made me laugh. Last weekend, we watched the film Grease on television. They were acting out the parts and singing along. They knew every word to the film."

Autopsies on both girls were conducted late last week at Addenbrooke's Hospital. According to police, the post mortem examination confirmed that both girls died from multiple stab wounds to the chest as a result of a vicious and unrelenting attack.
While police have yet to comment on a possible motive, some newspapers are reporting that an argument about the girls' behavior led to the incident. Some reports have even suggested that the sisters were "wild girls" who often got into trouble.
