By David Lohr
(Continued) This story has proven to be one of the more difficult cases I have covered in recent weeks, partly because of the amount of personal information the two girls left online and also because of the nature of the crime—a mother allegedly brutally murdering both of her daughters in cold blood. One reason I cover a lot of the crimes that relate back to MySpace and various other social networking Web sites is that the victims become that much more real to me, the writer, and to you, the reader. By the time you finish reading everything the victims have chosen to share about themselves, you almost feel as though you know them personally. In my line of work those emotions can prove to be a double-edged sword, but without heartache there would be no true crime to report. In a perfect world that would be a welcome reality, but ours is far from perfect.

I am going to end this story with a final word by Davina's friend Lorna Thomsen. She left the following message on Davina's Bebo.com profile last night:
"You & Jasmine deserved so much better than this. Look after each other. Don't be afraid. You're both so beautiful & everyone's missing you already."
