Naperville Police patch |
On the Tuesday prior to Coffield's apprehension, John Wentworth appeared in DuPage County Circuit Court on charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, indecent solicitation of a minor, and two charges of aggravated attempted sexual abuse.
MySpace.com has received a good deal of attention from the media due to cases like Coffield's or Wentworth's. The reasons for this are logical, to some degree. MySpace.com is the easily the most widely-used and popular site of its kind.

John Wentworth |
John R. Wentworth's MySpace profile, which was under the screen name johnwinter78, has been deleted since his arrest, but Wentworth still left traces elsewhere on the worldwide web.
TheDilly.com is a social networking website that describes itself this way:
"Our goal is to simply bring you the best online social experience possible.
We are not a faceless corporation; we're members, and we listen to what other members are saying. Real family doesn't quit. We will always do our best and work our hardest to bring you more features and more cool content than any other site."
Johnwinter78's profile could still be found TheDilly.com on June 11, 2006. It appeared that Wentworth had established his profile there in June of 2004. He described himself as single and straight, and stated that his birthday was October 12th.
On TheDilly.com Wentworth filled out his "1st Interview." There wasn't much of note save the following answer to this networking site's own "About Me" question:
"just a pale, scrawny guy from san francisco... I invariably end up 'the funny guy' in any group of friends...
"oh, and my friend. . . says 'john, you have a porno penis' ...that's gotta be worth something, right? :)"
