SOUTH BEND, Ind. (Crime Library) — A body found in the St. Joseph River last week has been positively identified as Vivian Borysiak, a 54-year-old woman who was reported missing from her north-side condominium nearly four months ago.
A Clay Fire Territory boat was traversing the murky river waters Friday, when someone on board spotted a body entangled in the branches of a fallen tree about 30 feet from the shoreline. The discovery was made a few blocks north of Vivian Borysiak's condominium, but police were hesitant to speculate on the body's identity.

On February 3, Vivian's son reported her missing after he went to her apartment and found her car in the driveway with the engine running. Her purse was lying on the seat of her car, but she was nowhere to be found. Her dog, a Cockapoo named Milo, was also missing. Police found no sign of struggle inside Vivian's home or outside on her property. Nothing appeared to be out of place, and there were no visible clues indicating what might have happened to her.
