An internet search for what appeared to be two frequently-used screen names by Shane Gault Sr. yielded evidence of a man who was seriously looking for that "special woman." Aside from his MySpace account, Gault had a profile on a dating site named, plentyoffish.com. Member 1244971 indicated he was a 5'9" smoker who drank socially. His profession was "maintenance tech." Gault wrote the following about the woman he was seeking:
"I would like to find a lady that doesn't have to drink to have a good time and she has to love children. In a nutshell I am looking for a slim, trim, smart, loving, and pretty lady to make the total package for me and my son. By the way, he already has a mother so I'm not asking for that and I know a lot of you women don't like NASCAR, that can be put on hold for the right lady..."
Though Shane Gault mentioned his son prominently again, where the profile for the dating site asked, "Do you want children?" Gault responded, "prefer not to say."
Gault had a similar, less extensive profile at the dating site, imatchup.com. Under "about me" he wrote:
"I have been divorced for five years and it is time to start dating again. I have had a problem [trying] to find the lady that want to see since I don't care for running the bars anymore..."
In every easily-found online profile for single father Shane Gault, age 34, of Washington Court House, OH, he mentioned his son a good deal. It seemed a point of pride to him that he was parenting solo. Gault seemed to adore his little boy.
