Lovely
It appeared Anna Svidersky probably changed her MySpace profile, perhaps even on the day she was murdered. Before April 20th, one of Anna's screen names had been "lovely." Her 18th birthday would have been April 26th. So she likely changed to the headline she had, "lovely is legal in 6 days" that very day.

The internet sometimes has a way of inadvertently preserving ghost images that, if found later, reek of terrible irony. Anna's profile page in the summer of 2005 was very different. She had weblog entries then, and their titles seemed to indicate she was unhappy. Though the blog entries weren't saved in Google's cache, their titles, like "lonely," and "where's my special someone?" were preserved. A goofy sense of humor could also be seen in her AOL instant messenger screen name once prominently displayed on the page — "Penguin Damage2." She prefaced giving out the AIM nickname with, "I'm Anna. Let's go flying in helicopters together."
But the irony was to be found in the quote Anna once used as a headline for her profile:
"There's no such thing as forever."

Anna Svidersky stopped using this cynical statement on her MySpace page at some point. Perhaps she no longer agreed with the sentiment. Maybe she was looking forward, the girl in the photo on her best friend's profile, arms raised, leaning into the wind. Then forever came to find her far too soon.
