A fifth victim was later found in the backyard according to the Associated Press. It was not immediately clear where the sixth and final body was discovered. Authorities have noted that four of the bodies had been wrapped in sheets stripped from their beds, and there was, according to published reports, a hammer, apparent bone fragments and what seemed to be brain matter on the floor of one of the rooms.

The victims have been identified as Emily Wise, 64, the suspect's grandmother, along with several relatives; Wanda Wise, 45, Skyler Wise, 19, Jesse James Wise, 17, Chance Wise, 5 and Arlene Wise who police was in her thirties. All six, along with the suspect and the elder Wise shared the same house in Leola. The family had reportedly moved to the town a few months ago from nearby New Holland.

Leola is located less than 10 miles from Lititz, another small community teetering between suburbs and farmland which was thrust into the national headlines when eighteen-year-old David Ludwig allegedly gunned down the parents of his underage girlfriend, Kara Borden, last November and then fled with across two states, triggering a nationwide manhunt that ended in Indiana. Ludwig is currently awaiting trial on murder charges.
