Nona
The morning of the 15th, Nona Dirksmeyer took one of her final exams at 8:00 am. Around 10:25 that morning, she chatted briefly with one of her professors on the phone, relating in the course of the conversation that she was at her apartment.

A text message was sent to Nona shortly after 11 that morning, and it was apparently read. After that, she didn't read or respond to any more messages. Nona Dirksmeyer had another exam scheduled for 2 pm that day. She didn't show.
In his MSN profile, "deuce_ace," nick-named "Bones," jokingly wrote that his occupation was "professional gas pumper." A source familiar with the investigation told The Crime Library that "deuce_ace" was Kevin Jones. The "gas pumper" crack was a reference to his sometimes working at his parents' service station located south of Dover, Ark., on Hwy 7.
Jones told Russellville Police that he'd last seen Nona Dirksmeyer shortly after midnight on the 15th. Kevin said he then went home to his parents' house in Dover. That morning, Kevin was supposedly at his parents' service station around the time the state medical examiner later determined that Nona Dirksmeyer was murdered. There was one problem with that —interviews with at least one station employee seemed to indicate that Kevin Jones was not on the premises until 1 pm — almost two hours later.
