"She said if she came back to me she would just run away again," Harris said, adding that the girl was likely told what to say by her father. "There is no way she could've run away and ended up at my father's house. He lives two hours away."
And McKinstry has no visitation rights. He also had a warrant out for his arrest for failing to register as a sex offender. Deputies arrested him Wednesday. He looked exactly as the witnesses had described him when he was at the Harris home — sporting a shaved head.

The McKinstrys were divorced in 2003, the same year McKinstry pleaded no contest to a sexual assault charge. He received a suspended sentence, but landed in prison for a year upon violating his probation by refusing to pay child support. Harris had sealed McKinstry's doom by testifying against him in court. He was released six months ago and kidnapped Erin as revenge, Harris claims.
"He's never called her or tried to see her. He told me he's not a 'kid' person," Harris said.
