The West Lafayette Police Department, the Purdue University Police Department, the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department, and the FBI have all assisted in the search for Wade. The last search took place on March 18. Over 60 volunteers scoured an area of Indiana Route 26.

Wade maintained a MySpace page prior to his disappearance. His last login date is shown as January 12. Since his disappearance, some of his friends have created a tribute page on MySpace. Some of his friends are now stopping by and leaving comments about his possible discovery.

"My Thoughts and Prayers are with the Family and Friends while we all wait now for word on the reports coming out today," a user with the screen name Lorri posted to the page last night.
Anna Hirst, a woman who organized an event to raise funds for future searches, expressed her concerns to the online edition of the Journal & Courier last night.
"We can only assume that it is Wade given the location of the body and the place that Wade was last seen," Hirst said, adding, "Who else is missing?"

Wade was last seen wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt with blue stripes and light-colored jeans. He is described as a Caucasian male with short brown hair and brown eyes, 5'10", and weighs about 150 pounds.
