Godwin has said that he believes Tara knew her killer, a sentiment echoed by Baron who says she has gotten strong indications that the Tara was taken by someone she knew well and whose emotional power was more than Tara could resist.
And both Baron and the family believe that the killer returned, not once but twice to Tara's house, first to clean up after the struggle, and then again, the following day, to make double-check his efforts. It was, Gattis and his supporters believe, then that the killer accidentally dropped what has been one of the most puzzling clues in the case thus far, a single latex glove, the kind used by doctors, paramedics and police. Gattis maintains that at least two witnesses have affirmed that they were at the house on Sunday, the day after he disappearance, and that the glove was not there, indicating that whoever had dropped it, had come to the house later, and unnoticed.
