Tuesday, February 6, 2007 BELLEVILLE, IL Convicted serial killer Gregory Bowman posted bail this week, after being granted a retrial. According to court records, the presiding judge ruled that Bowman had been tricked into confessing by a cellmate. Bowman, who has spent the last 29 years of his life behind bars, is not electronically monitored, but he must report to court officials every two weeks.

South Australia Authorities are looking for a way to keep serial killer Bevan Spencer von Einem behind bars for life. Under current laws, von Einem could apply for parole within a year. In 1984, he was convicted for the murder of five men and sentenced to life in prison. Under the new bill, offenders whose crimes result in death will have to serve at least 80 percent of their sentence.

| Toronto, Canada Rumors are circulating that Karla Homolka, 36, who helped her ex husband Paul Bernardo murder 3 juveniles, including her 15 year old sister, is now married and has a given birth to a baby boy. Homolka was released in July of 2005, after serving a 12-year sentence she received after accepting a plea bargain from the Crown. In the year and a half since her release, she has legally changed her name and her appearance. |

| New Westminster, British Columbia - Accused serial killer Robert Pickton confessed to committing 49 murders to an undercover officer posing as his cellmate after his arrest in 2002, all of which was on video for the jury to see. During his conversations with the officer, Pickton admitted to "getting sloppy", he also bragged he was bigger than the Green River Killer. |
